National Hep C Action Plan launched

National Hep C Action Plan launched28 Jul 2021

Yesterday we attended the launch of the National Hepatitis C Action Plan, Māhere Mahi mō te Ate Kakā C in Hamilton. Timely given that it was World Hepatitis Day!

Hats off to our colleagues in the Ministry who are spearheading this plan – Hep C affects 45,000 kiwis but often goes diagnosed too long while attacking the liver (and can lead to cancer) – so it’s great to see this coordinated approach, which aims to eliminate the blood borne virus in NZ by 2030.

We’re looking forward to working with community teams and nurse-led teams to provide clinical support and treatment for their patients. Watch this space!
