27 Oct 2023Yesterday we celebrated a milestone with our Hato Hone St John friends at Auckland Hospital. Together we have provided over 2,500 consults.
Giving ambulance staff (and their patients) direct access to Emergency Doctors while on-scene means a higher level of clinical care, fewer hospital transfers, and less congestion at the Emergency Department.
82% of the patients referred by St John to Emergency Consult have been successfully seen and treated on-the-spot. Together we're bringing Emergency Medicine Specialist care out of the trappings of hospital and caring for people in their own homes (where appropriate!).
We love this mahi. It's a win for patients, the community, and our health service.
