Dr Katherine “Katy” Heuser

Dr Heuser is deeply invested in high quality emergency care. She is particularly motivated by patients with complex presentations, the critically unwell, and geriatric emergencies. Dr Heuser began her studies in the UK. She gained both a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Leeds. She earned honours with both degrees. She relocated to Aotearoa in 2011 for a change of scene and an adventure. After a stint back in London to complete some training in anaesthetics she moved to NZ permanently in 2014. Dr Heuser has completed her advanced emergency medicine training across the Waikato. Dr Heuser is now working as an Emergency Physician both hands-on within the hospital and online via telehealth. In addition to her passion for medicine, Dr Heuser is busy with her young family and loves to travel. She also is keen on horse riding, skiing, mountain biking and getting involved with her local community.
