Dr Danenhauer is a US-trained emergency doctor who has been working in New Zealand since 2015. The majority of Dr Danenhauer’s career has been spent working in rural settings where she has enjoyed the unique challenges that rural health entails. Dr Danenhauer is also passionate about sustainability. A few years ago she founded a small business that innovated new product from recycled plastic - and she hosts a blog aimed at guiding health professionals toward sustainable solutions (sustainabledoctor.co). In 2021, Dr Danenhauer was named Taranaki DHB Environmental Sustainability Champion. Telehealth presents unique opportunity to marry her emergency medicine expertise with environmentally sustainable work. Dr Danenhauer is fluent in German, English and Malagasy - and proficient in French and Italian. Her sporting interests include tennis, pickleball, and hiking.
