Katy Cryer

Katy has been nursing in the Waikato for almost two decades. In that time, she’s worked on the frontlines as a Paramedic, Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Charge Nurse Manager in the Emergency Department. In 2020, Katy achieved Nurse Practitioner status. Being an NZNP means she is qualified to practice beyond the level of a registered nurse; combining advanced nursing knowledge and skills to provide services including the diagnosis and management of common and complex health conditions. This includes delivery of a wide range of interventions, ordering and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests, and prescribing medicines. Katy is also involved in trauma research and teaching resuscitation and is passionate about mentoring and supporting her colleagues to achieve their career goals.
