Dr Collins began impressive her medical career in Scotland. After graduating Edinburgh Medical School she worked in Glasgow and commenced further studies with the University of Dundee. Upon moving to Aotearoa in 2016, Dr Collins continued to pursue emergency medicine and developed an interest in point of care ultrasound. She has a number of postgraduate qualifications to her name, including a Diploma in Child Health (Otago), Certificate in Clinician Performed Ultrasound (Otago) and Diploma in Medical Education (Dundee). She is a co-chair of Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Groups (EMUGs) NZ Committee. Dr Collins’ is a busy clinician with roles as Module Convener for the University of Otago, ED Senior Medical Officer in Hutt Hospital and teaching on a variety of ultrasound courses. Dr Collins has equally impressive achievements outside the hospital. She holds PADI Advanced Diver & Deep Diver Certificates, is a published knitwear designer, and has earned her black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do.
