Dr Zach Sturges

Dr Sturges grew up in the United States and has moved around. He attended medical school at the University of Washington and then followed with formal training in emergency medicine at the University of Utah. He stayed on in Utah as a faculty member running simulations programmes until entering community practice in Alaska and Montana. We were fortunate to have Dr Sturges in New Zealand throughout the COVID-19 pandemic; he has worked in Gisborne and Wellington, and it was here in Aotearoa that he gained FACEM certification. Outside of medicine, Dr Sturges likes to get active with his children and is attempting to learn piano. He also enjoys cycling, tramping and skiing.
